Kristine Five Melvær designed Heymat's first collection, launched in January 2016 — drawn to the idea of bringing industrial-quality mats into the home. A Norwegian designer working across tableware, lighting, furniture, textiles and graphic design, Kristine bridges industrial design and visual communication to create emotional bonds between object and user. She holds master's degrees from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and collaborates with producers including HAY, Røros Tweed and Poltrona Frau. Her work has won numerous awards across both disciplines.
